WabaraFormer Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara has finally opened up on the third term ambition of ex-president Obasanjo. He revealed recently that Obasanjo actually started his third term ambition project as early as May 29, 2003 when he was sworn in for a second term of four years. He said the ex-president invited him to his office at the Villa on July 3rd, 2013 along with his younger brother, then MD of Hallmark Bank and they spent two hours with the president. He revealed that Obasanjo told him he would continue as Senate President in 2007 if he would help him actualize his 3rd term ambition and he turned him down point blank and told him to his face that could never work.

The ex-Senate President confessed that the sum of N250 million was brought to his house at about 1.30am on Thursday May 16, 2007 by some foot solders of ex-president Obasanjo and he rejected the money. He revealed that those who brought the money begged him to collect it and they promised to bring more money if he helps them actualize the 3rd term project on the floor of the senate but he stood his ground and they left with the money.

The ex-Senate president lamented that senators who distributed N50m each to their colleagues are the ones enjoying the government today. He added that many of those who shared the N50million are still in the senate till date and those who physically distributed it. While those of them who stood on their principle to kill the 3rd term project have been forgotten.
