Emeka Ike Fumes After Court Dismisses N10 Billion Suit

Popular Nollywood actor and politician, Emeka Ike, has expressed anger and questioned the meaning of fundamental human rights following a court judgment dismissing his N10 billion suit.

The actor’s reaction comes after a Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed his N10 billion fundamental human rights suit against Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday.

According to the court, Emeka Ike failed to establish how his rights were violated by Olayinka and INEC, adding that the suit lacked merit.

The judge subsequently dismissed the suit in favour of Wike’s aide and INEC, stating that Ike’s claims were unsubstantiated.

Disappointed by the judgment, Ike questioned the meaning of fundamental human rights, expressing frustration over what he described as embarrassment and online bullying.

He said: “It’s even crazy that your right will be violated and the judge will tell you it’s not a fundamental human right. Then what is a fundamental human right? The embarrassment, the bullying online.”
