The governor of Jigawa State, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar has eventually opened up on his involvement in a N46 billion fertiliser fraud allegation: “The reports emanated from enemies of the common man and Nigerians whom have for decades been in the dirty and fraudulent business of fertiliser.”

“The effort of the state government is to breakdown the cartel whom are also deploying all efforts to fight back through means such as media blackmail and lies. The present administration under President Muhammadu Buhari has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Moroccan government to import millions of tones of fertilizer.”
