Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s running mate in the 2023 general election, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has made a shocking revelation about his relationship with the former Anambra State governor.

He said: “Peter Obi did not drop me; I left him because he doesn’t have a plan for Nigeria.”

“Peter Obi knows I stood for him. I still stand by him. And it is regretful, those moves he made. But it is his choice.”

However, speaking about his position ahead of the 2027 general election, Datti said he would not deliberately undermine President Bola Tinubu in an attempt to promote other opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

He said: “I will not disadvantage President Bola Tinubu to unnecessarily promote Baba Atiku and Peter Obi and others. Because we have to be fair in life. And that’s what I stand for.”
