EFCC Denies Declaring Sabinus Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied a viral poster declaring popular comedian and skit maker, Sabinus (Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu) wanted over alleged fraud.

This follows the circulation of a poster, purportedly from the commission, featuring Sabinus’ face and declaring him wanted.

The poster reads: “The public is hereby notified that Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, who appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.”

“Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the commission.”

However, the EFCC, in a post via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, dismissed the poster as fake news, stating:

“Clout chaser, stop this now!”
