That Senator Gbemi Saraki has dumped PDP like bad habit is stale news. But many people don’t know why the tested politician left the party. Insiders said it was Hajia Bola Shagaya that frustrated her out of PDP.
The insiders said Bola Shagaya who was never a politician came to Kwara PDP and used her closeness to Dame Patience Jonathan to hijack the PDP structures in Kwara State from a tested politicians like Senator Gbemi Saraki and others. They added that during the presidential campaign, funds were never given to the senator and her group to mobilize for the PDP. Instead, the campaign funds were supervised by Bola Shagaya who could not even deliver her polling unit in the presidential election. Her son who contested for a political post during the election was also roundly defeated by the APC candidate.
Our sources said the senator complained bitterly to the PDP leadership in Abuja but they won’t listen to her, instead they were listening to Bola Shagaya. Despite all, President Jonathan and the PDP lost Kwara State to APC and the senator equally left the sinking PDP for the APC.
