That Hon. Rotimi Makinde wants to represent Ife Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives again is an established fact. Besides, from all indications he has the most intimidating profile among those who want to contest for the position.

Hon. Rotimi Mikhail Makinde was born in Ile Ife, Osun State on the 3rd of January 1966 into the family of Alhaji Niniola Makinde. He is a Muslim and married to Queen Oyebanke Makinde (a loving daughter of Eesa of Iragbiji). They are blessed with children.
Hon Makinde started his formal education at Ansar Ud-Deen Primary School, Isale – Agbara, Ile Ife in 1976. He attended Okuu Grammar School, Okuu-Omoni, Ile Ife in 1983. He later proceeded to Government Teachers’ Training College, Sokoto and obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate. He gained admission to Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi where he obtained his National Diploma (ND) in Accountancy in 1989.
He later went to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin for his HND (Higher National Diploma) and possessed the certificate, HND in Accountancy in 1998. As a man who values education, he proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy in 2006. He didn’t stop there but went back to the same institution (Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso) for his Masters program and got a Master’s degree in Finance (MBA), 2008.
He is an astute and qualified accountant by profession. He belongs to many academic professional bodies such as;
- Member, Nigeria Institute of Management NIM
- Associate Member, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA).
Hon. Makinde started his work experience at NNPC (Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation) where he worked for good 20years before he later joined politics and was elected into the House of Representative of Nigeria as a member representing Ife Federal Constituency between the 2011 – 2015 under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).
He is a man of many parts, he is a Nollywood veteran and a businessman. He possessed a stable personality, tactful with excellent life-impactation skills who took delight in working for humanity. He is a man of creative ingenuity with great vision, indefatigable spirit, irrepressible courage whose uncommon initiatives have made him a success in every sphere of his life.
Hon. Rotimi Makinde has many chieftaincy titles among which are; Bobaselu of Ile Ife, Mayegun of Ifewara, Fiwagboye of Ila-orogun, now Bobajiro of Ede Kingdom and many more.
