Weco, Cisco Advocate Seamless Business To Business Connectivity

In today’s world, businesses are looking for new and smart ways to connect people, processes, data, and things with advanced intelligence, security, and efficiency. This was the focus of a training organized by Cisco Systems in collaboration with Weco Systems International in Lagos recently. The training was tagged “delivering better value with intelligent mobility and had heads of information technology and other IT experts from financial institutions, telecommunications, oil and gas and other service providers in attendance.

Speaking at the training, Systems and Solution, Mobility/MPLS Manager, Weco Systems Limited, Omotunde Ogunbiyi disclosed that, businesses are looking for new and smart ways to connect with people, processes, data, and provide advanced intelligence, efficiency security. He said,“It is about connecting experiences and operational efficiencies while supporting bring your own device (BYOD) and the Internet of Everything (IoE).”

Omotunde added that, Enterprise mobility services (EMS) facilitate network access, Mobility for work-force, IP Telephony, Digital Media Streaming, video services, Location Services, Biometrics, Assets tracking services and much more. “The fourth industrial revolution has created a new landscape for organizations; new business challenges and competition are coming up as well. It is a platform for businesses to provide seamless connectivity to business resources for more productivity and smarter decision making.

“Enterprise Mobility Management facilitates swifter roll out of business applications and services as secured connection is provided for users and technology systems alike. Enterprise wireless technology has evolved over the years from ordinary wireless access media to highly secure enterprise mobility networks. The mobility concept has reduced the operating expenditure for building structured cabling and the clumsiness that old cabling systems can cause in an organization.” Omotunde revealed.

The training which explored how organizations can accelerate innovation, ensure more productive employees and more engaged customers and exposed attendees to Cisco’s Connected Mobile Experience (CMX), which has been designed to provide a platform which businesses can leverage to connect to their customers and engage them with mobile technologies. CMX enables businesses to analyze their customers’ behavior and plan for Improvement of their experiences. It uses mobile apps to give better experience to customers through relevant information such as new products, promos and bonuses. The outcome of these is brand improvement, customers’ stickiness and better revenue through brand loyalty.

Commenting further, the Systems Engineer, International Sales, Cisco Funmi Coker, submitted that, Wi-Fi has become the primary access network for most businesses. “With Cisco’s, world-class RF (radio frequency) equipment and intelligent software, it’s a snap to make your WLAN as fast, reliable, and secure as your wired network. You get loads of extra features for improving spectrum efficiency, performance, and user experiences that you can’t find anywhere else. Cisco WLAN hardware and software are uniquely positioned to handle the dense volumes of wireless traffic generated by today’s mobile applications, BYOD programs, growing numbers of wireless users and devices, and Internet of Things (IoT) connections.

“The mobile user requires the same accessibility, security, QoS and high availability currently enjoyed by wired users. Whether you are at work, at home, on the road, locally or internationally, there is a need to connect. The technological challenges are apparent, but to this end, mobility plays a role for everyone.
