Rev. Chris Okotie Again

Information reaching us has it that Rev. Chris Okotie of the Household of God Church has joined the 2019 presidential race.

Sources squealed to us that the man of God made this declaration on Monday, October 1st, 2018 during a service to commemorate Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day in his church…

“I want to re-affirm my call for an interim government and to ask those that are concerned, who are the political actors to consider me as a consensus candidate.

“I have referred to myself as a consensus remedial facilitator because of the existential threats that we have now and I think that it’s time for us to lay aside the habiliments of our political affiliations and to embrace a new nationalistic philosophy that can salvage this country at this time.”

For those who don’t know, Okotie first ran for the President under the banner of the Justice Party (JP), led by Ralph Obiorah after he was schemed out of the National Democratic Party (NDP) primaries elections. Okotie lost to Olusegun Obasanjo in the May 2003 elections.

He ran again in 2007 on the platform of a party he founded, Fresh Democratic party, FRESH and lost to Umaru Yar’Adua in the May 2007 elections. Then in 2011, he ran and lost to the President Goodluck Jonathan.
