A crack team of the Delta State Police Command has intensified a search for the suspects who allegedly masterminded the heinous crisis that rocked Ellu community, in Isoko North LGA, of Delta State, causing death and pandemonium.

The suspects, now at large have been linked to the crisis that led to the brutal death of one person, destruction of properties worth millions of naira, and razing of buildings, and many people injured in the hitherto peaceful agrarian community.

The crisis has been described as unfortunate by the residents of the community, even as the law enforcement agents have vowed to round up the fleeing suspects in no distant time.

Trouble reportedly started on the 7th May, 2016, when one Kent Akpoyibo, a member of the vigilante was reportedly killed in his house at Ellu.

The killing, according to witnesses led to the said burning of the house of one Aaron Ipeli suspected to have been the mastermind of the homicide.

Angry members of the vigilante allegedly mobilised and saw to the torching of the house of the accused mastermind while protesting the death of one of their own.

Following near breakdown of law and order, as well as the failure of the traditional ruler, HRM Murphy, Ogwara 1 to restore peace, the council chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor ordered anti riot policemen to restore calm.

However, three of the youths, said to be ringleaders of the fracas, Omamuzo Inisarah, Christian Owerin and the said Aaron Ipeli were picked by security men while a manhunt for others implicated in the dastardly crime was said to be on.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Superintendent. (SP) Celestina Kalu says that the case file has been transferred to the office of the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Zone 6 in Benin, Edo State. She declined further comments.
