Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria has tendered an unreserved apology to Oba Sikiru Adetona, Awujale of Ijebuland. Sources disclosed to us that the former president phoned the king to say ‘I’m sorry’ over his harsh words in his letter to the Awujale to debunk allegations levelled against him in the monarch’s autobiography.

In the said letter, Obasanjo had accused the respected traditional ruler of being a peddler of falsehood and a rumourmonger in his letter dated December 30, 2016. However, the retired Army General/politician picked his phone to call the Awujale on Thursday January 5, 2017 to beg the paramount ruler of Ijebuland.

The former president has equally invited the Awujale to the commissioning of a new mosque built within the premises of his Presidential Library in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on February 11, 2017. It is interesting to know that the king made some remarks about Obasanjo in his book which angered the former president.
