Muiz Banire Reveals Secrets

Muiz BanireDr. Muiz Banire (SAN), former Lagos State Commissioner and now National Legal Adviser of All Progressives Congress (APC) revealed his secrets recently… “I started my law firm from one room in my community, Mushin so I was getting all those community cases, like landlord and tenant matters. That was the starting point. That was when I was doing my Master’s programme at the University of Lagos, but when I finished in 1991, I was given automatic employment as a lecturer, courtesy of my grade. That gave me the opportunity to meet people who were giving me robust briefs. So, my practice started growing gradually to what it is today. Actually, I learnt a lot from late Chief Gani Fawehinmi when I did my internship in his law firm.”

“Apart from advocacy par excellence, I enjoyed the place and it strengthened my courage. We had seniors like Mr. Tayo Oyetibo, Mr. Wemimo Ogunde, etc., while we as interns were carrying books to court and we would be looking at them arguing fearlessly. They were never intimidated by anybody, so we developed more courage from them. I must tell you Chief Fawehinmi was one man I will ever cherish. I don’t joke with that name; himself and late Prof. Adebisi Omotola, former UNILAG vice chancellor. I don’t joke with those names. They made remarkable contributions to my life.”
