Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Engr. Adedeji Doherty, has unveiled a 10-point agenda aimed at improving the lives of residents and driving development across the state.

Doherty said Lagos has always been on his mind and that his goal is to make life better for Lagosians by creating opportunities and bringing smiles and happiness to the people.
According to him, his agenda will cover every Local Government Area (LGA), with attention to both urban centres and communities that have received less government attention.
The 10-point agenda includes:
- Rural Development and Low-Cost Housing: Doherty plans to improve rural and semi-urban communities and provide affordable housing for residents.
- Women Empowerment and Sports: He wants to increase support for women, particularly market women, while expanding opportunities for women and girls in sports.
- Youth Empowerment and Sports: The agenda will provide young people with skills, employment opportunities and support for sporting activities.
- Quality and Affordable Healthcare: Doherty promises a healthcare network that will make quality and affordable medical services accessible to residents across the state.
- Free, Quality and Affordable Education: He plans to provide free and quality education while improving the welfare of teachers and other education workers.
- Efficient Roads and Transport: The candidate wants to improve road networks and create better transport arrangements to reduce traffic and support economic activities.
- Traditional Institutions and Civil Service Welfare: His agenda includes strengthening the traditional institution and improving the welfare of civil servants.
- Power and Infrastructure: Doherty plans to support consistent power projects and infrastructure development across Lagos.
- Tax Reform: He proposes a review of the state’s taxation system while ensuring that workers receive the approved Federal Government minimum wage.
- Employment and Industrial Development: Doherty plans to create more jobs and support industries and businesses to expand economic opportunities for Lagos residents.
Doherty said his experience in the private sector, where he has spent decades building businesses and creating jobs, would guide his approach to governance.
He added that the 10-point agenda is only the beginning, promising a broader development plan focused on improving the lives of Lagosians across the state.
