Mudi Africa Renovates Post Office Junction Ughelli

Mudi Africa marking its 25th Anniversary as a major Fashion Brand and also celebrating the 50th birthday of its iconic Creative Director, Mudiaga Enajemo (Mudi) decided to amongst others renovate the very popular Post office Junction Round About in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government, Delta State.

The exquisite structure which features three bronzed sculptures depicting the Urhobo culture in all its glory was today unveiled by an elated Delta State governor, His Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Other personalities who graced the occasion include the Delta State First Lady, Dame Edith Okowa; the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oharisi III, Olorogun Oscar Ibru; Dr Steve Oru; former Honourable Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, amongst others.

Governor Okowa in his remark, stated his great joy in the fact that Mudiaga Enajemo (Mudi) chose to give back to his community in such a beautiful way. He talked about the beauty of the structure and the positive impact of same on its immediate environment and the state at large.

He concluded his remarks by calling on all sons and daughters of the State who are successful in their different areas of life to emulate Mudi in bringing back development and support to the state. He thanked Mudi and assured the people of the state of his government’s continued eagerness to partner the private sector in its continued push for infrastructural development of the State.

Mudi was accompanied by close friends; Joseph Edgar, an investment banker; prominent columnist, theater producer and ace photographer, Joshua Omonemu.

Mudi thanked the governor, His Royal Highness, the Ovie of Ughelli and other prominent sons and daughters of Ughelli North for taking time out to be physically present at the grand opening and unveiling of the structure.

He said the structure is part of Mudi Africa’s Corporate Social Responsibility targeted at infrastructural development, job creation and youth empowerment. He added that the project created job opportunities for the youths of the area while also easing the flow of traffic at the very popular traffic intersection. It also beautifies the skyline and environment.

He called on other right-thinking sons and daughters of Delta State and Nigeria to look inwards in their social responsibility because we all cannot leave it all to government.

The structure reflects candidly the mindset of Mudi as a frontline art curator as it embodies the deep reflection of an artistic mind, pulling together his culture, environment and artistic mien.

This enviable disposition and keen eye for details which has made Mudi’s clothing line quite popular could be easily gleaned by a keen observer with a cursory look at his corporate offices and abode in Lagos in designing and situating these landmark structures.
