In what seems to be another desperate move to establish control over Ogun State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) and to ensure his anointed aspirant emerges as the party’s candidate, Governor Ibikunle Amosun has charged his followers to engage other members of the party perceived to be working for other candidates.
The governor who spoke during the party’s extended executive meeting on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at the MTR Hall, Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta enjoined his followers to be on their guard against infiltrators.
He said; “Don’t worry because of them. This position we are today is by the benevolence of God, we are more now, I have told them, as the government, we have the party and we have the people.”
“They have been trying all the tricks in the book, they will have trouble having 10 or five percent of the people. If they do it one million times, the result will be the same. The disgrace they got last time (2015) will be more this time.”
“Keep your gun powder dry, we will mobilise you with the necessary logistics when the time comes. If they are doing kuru kere moves, tell them that they will be disgraced. We are on ground here. We will give you money for your transport fare back.”
“Nobody is going to kill anybody, if you have the love of Ogun State, don’t de-market it, nobody will kill anybody. We are ready for them, I’m the chief security officer of the state, something is worrying their brain, we are waiting for them.”
“Please don’t touch anybody, if they bring money collect from them, what we have done for you the day before yesterday, we are going to do another one, no retreat no surrender, it is not by might but by the benevolence of almighty God. It is operation deliver your ward. Go out and mobilise yourself. We outnumber them. Where they have people, please allow them.”
While reacting to the allegations of death threat against other five aspirants of the party, Amosun said it is just a mere mischief by those who are jittery of losing at the primaries election.
Amosun also boasted that his preferred aspirant, Honourable Abdulkadir Adekunle Akinlade will not only floor others in a landslide victory but shall also beat them in their own strongholds with margin of 95 to 5 percent.
Others in the race includes Prince Dapo Abiodun, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Jimi Adebisi Lawal, Senator Gbenga Kaka and Simeon Abayomi Hunye.
It would be recalled that the State Chapter of APC has been enmeshed in various crises over who picks the gubernatorial ticket ahead of 2019 elections.
