As Nigeria marks her 59th Independence anniversary, the national telecommunications operator, Globacom, has saluted the resilience of Nigerians at keeping the nation united in spite of challenging circumstances.

In a goodwill message to the government and people of Nigeria, Globacom noted that there was much to be celebrated in the country’s 59 years as an independent nation. 

In the statement issued in Lagos on Monday, October 1st, 2019, the grandmasters of data said that in spite of the challenges confronting  the country, there was reason for Nigerians to be positive as the country had over the years made progress in several areas of nationhood.  

“We felicitate with the government and people of Nigeria on the nation’s Independence celebration. We believe that a major reason for joy is the resilience of Nigerians to weather the storm and remain one united country notwithstanding continual threats to its cohesion”, Globacom noted. 

Globacom, while acknowledging that Nigeria ought to have risen above current developmental challenges given the country’s rich human and natural endowments, expressed optimism that the foundations for the emergence of a truly great nation would be laid by governments at various levels.  

The statement further said: “59 years ago, our nation heeded the call of freedom, and we continue to move forward in unity and progress.”  

Globacom restated its utmost belief in the ability of Nigerians to rise above present challenges and excel in their endeavour, adding that it would continue to empower Nigerians with world-class telecommunication services to speed up the country’s development.
