Ex-Governor Uduaghan Unveils His Boss

Former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has revealed his first employer as a medical doctor. The medical doctor turned politician took to his Facebook page to unveil his boss…

“MY OGA DR. BENJI ONI-OKPAKU, 86 YRS. My 1st employer in his hospital, Benoni Hospital in 1982, after my NYSC. Benoni is the Hebrew name meaning “the child of my sorrow” Google it.”

“My oga used to tell us that his mother died during his own birth. BENONI HOSPITAL was in memory of his mother. Though a surgeon (“the youngest surgeon in Midwest” in his time,) he made sure that the O & G area was well equipped and staffed.”

“Maternal deaths at pregnancy or child birth is still a cause for concern especially amongst the poor. We reduced this by ensuring that every pregnant woman in Delta State had access to free maternal healthcare, which comprised free ante-natal care, delivery, and even free investigation and management of infertility in our Govt hospitals.”

“At about 9.30 am last week Wednesday, while passing through Boundary Road in Benin City, I saw him sitting on the road side in front of his house. He was already looking old. He is no longer his usual smart golf player.”

“I asked him why he was sitting there, and he said whenever there is no rain, all he does in the mornings is to take a walk along the road and end up sitting at that spot. Why that spot? “I love watching the cars drive past” He was a lover of cars. Asked him if he was not afraid sitting there like that ? No he was not. I have not offended anybody, so nobody will kill me. “Not even Govt”, he added. I was more afraid of a hit and run vehicle, rather than anything else. For him that is not an issue.”
