The former NFF boss claimed that Davido failed to appear at the event after receiving a payment of $94,500 (N73 million)

However, Davido’s legal team led by Norrison Quakers (SAN) during the hearing of the suit, challenged the jurisdiction of the Delta State High Court in Effurun to entertain the matter.

The singer argued that the issue should be treated as a debt recovery case. He said Pinnick should have issued a demand letter before legal action.

Davido, also denied that Sosoberokon, who signed the contract on his behalf was his authorised agent.

Davido stated that the payment was for a performance rather than promotional services as opposed to Pinnick’s claim.

The court adjourned the case to 14th December 2023 to rule on the preliminary objections filed in both cases.
