Aregbesola In Big Trouble

Former Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, now Minister of Interior is in hot soup.

Insiders squealed to us that Aregbesola’s political godfather and mentor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is set to teach him a lesson and clip his wings.

Our sources said that Tinubu bared his fangs few days ago when he banned Mandate Group, headed by Aregbesola.

Recently, Aregbesola had revamped the Mandate Group and appointed his protege, Abdullahi Enilolobo, as the new chairman.

We were told that Aregbesola did not inform Tinubu before revamping the Mandate Group.

Besides, when Aregbesola marked his 63rd birthday with a virtual colloquium recently he called Tinubu “my brother and my partner” on-air, in place of the usual “my leader and my mentor” and some of Tinubu’s loyalists took notice of it.

Furthermore, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State who does not see eye-to-eye with Tinubu was the unlikely speaker at the birthday event and this was what he said about Tinubu.

“I want to congratulate my brother, Ogbeni (Aregbesola), on his birthday. You know I’m your man any day. I’m not Asiwaju’s man and you are Asiwaju’s man, but I am your man any day. Asiwaju and I have differences but you and I have no differences.”

Tinubu’s loyalists are saying that Aregbesola has been hobnobbing with Tinubu’s political enemies such as el-Rufai and Senator Ibikunle Amosun in recent times.

They added that Aregbesola and Ibikunle Amosun flew in a private jet from Lagos to Abuja recently.

That is not all, we were told that Aregbesola hosted members of the Mandate Group at his GRA Ikeja residence recently without Tinubu’s permission.

Tinubu’s supporters such as Senator Solomon Adeola, Tayo Ayinde and Senator Sikiru Osinowo amongst others were surprised that their leader, Tinubu was unaware of the meeting.
