Archbishop Avwomakpa Expresses Gratitude To Ibori, Okowa, Others

Satisfied that his vision for a polytechnic in Delta State has been realised, Archbishop God-Dowell Avwomakpa over the weekend thanked Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Chief James Ibori, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Prof. Amos Utuama, Kingsley Otuaro, Deputy Governor of Delta State, Olorogun John Oguma, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Chief Ighoyota Amori, the Dein of Agbor, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Felix Omobude, CAN President, Dr Ayokunle and the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, as well as members of the House of Representatives, traditional rulers, the clergy and so on for making his 70th Birthday ceremony and the launch of the endowment fund for the God-Dowell Avwomakpa Polytechnic a huge success.

According to Archbishop Avwomakpa; “God-Dowell Avwomakpa Polytechnic will offer the right kind of education that will produce technologically equipped entrepreneurs who can compete with the world best in vocational and technological skills. Furthermore, he said the polytechnic will absolve students of the technical colleges across the country beginning with the six technical colleges in Delta state and make them first class skilled personnel in their field of study. I thank everyone who came to make both my birthday and the unveiling of the polytechnic campus take off as well as those who contributed to the endowment fund of the polytechnic.”

It would be recalled that the Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa while commending Avwomakpa for the establishment of the polytechnic noted that “no society can develop beyond the quality of education of its citizenry.”

Furthermore he said; “Education develops the mind of the recipients, shapes their view of the world, enables them to become better citizens and harnesses their talents and creative energies for personal, professional and national development; hence, the modern world recognizes education as the fundamental right of every individual.”

Former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori who chaired the occasion while congratulating Archbishop Avwomakpa equally called on concerned citizens of the state to support the polytechnic project. Ex-Governor James Ibori  described Archbishop Avwomakpa as a humble and dedicated man of God who desires to leave behind not only a legacy of winning souls for Christ but, physical infrastructure that will also mould the character of the people.

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor prayed for a successful take off of academic activities before Governor Ifeanyi Okowa unveiled the take off campus of the polytechnic.
