Fresh facts have emerged why Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State was stoned by his own people recently in Ijebu-Ode. We gathered that for some time now the students of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode have been nursing grudges against the governor over his nonchalant attitude towards the institution affairs.

Sources said the students were miffed over the action of the governor to underfund the school and plans to close it down.

That’s not all, sources said some time ago during a protest by the students to draw the governor’s attention to the school, a student leader, Comrade Tunji Fashina died. Also, Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has delisted courses offered in the university from 48 to 23 because the governor has refused to fund the school. Insiders revealed these were the reasons the students stoned the governor with pure water sachets and other objects when he came to solicit for their votes.
