Alhaji Lai Mohammed, APC National Publicity Secretary says Rivers State Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru who dumped the APC for the PDP a few days ago is nothing but a traitor. He added that even though Gov. Rotimi Amaechi was aware of how Tele Ikuru betrayed him while he was in the trenches fighting for his mandate, he did not pay Ikuru back for betraying him in the days of Sir Celestine Omehia as governor of Rivers State. Instead, the governor retains him as his deputy even when Ikuru was already packing out of his office.

He revealed that in 2011 election, the governor had another golden opportunity to drop Ikuru and pick another deputy governor. Yet, he still retained him as his running mate. Now because he was not given the governorship ticket he decided to leave the party without being civil enough to tell the governor that he has been working with for the past eight years.

Be that as it may, sources said the deputy governor has been having a political running battle with Mr. Davies Ikanya, the APC Chairman in Rivers State as both are from the same Andoni Local Government Area. That’s not all; we gathered that the deputy governor is the first cousin of Mr. Uche Secondus, PDP Deputy National Chairman and this is the man that made him in politics. So, there is no way he can dumped him for Gov. Amaechi and APC.
