Why Akpabio Is Angry With Gov. Udom Emmanuel

Fresh facts have emerged why Senator Godswill Akpabio is very angry with his successor, Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Insiders told us that the lawmaker who singlehandedly brought his successor from the banking industry to politics has been complaining of insubordination, among others, against the governor.

Our sources added that the lawmaker is bitter by the plot of the governor to use the numerical strength of the Ibibio tribe which he belongs to against him.

For those who don’t know, the senator is from the minority Annang tribe while the governor is from the majority Ibibio tribe.

Besides, we gathered that the senator has been furious about the plan of the governor to use the son-in-law of a former governor of the state as his deputy in the 2019 election.

Insiders squealed to us that the lawmaker has been very bitter with his successor for sacking his key loyalists in the government which includes; the former SSG and others. We were told that all these reasons may have made him decamp from PDP to APC.

It is interesting to know that, it was President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide, Mr. Obono-Obla who in his facebook page announced the senator’s defection: “There shall be an APC Rally at Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Abasi Ibom State on Thursday, the 9th August 2018 to receive the former indefatigable governor of the state, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to All Progressives Congress! Acting President Osinbajo accompanied by Senator Ita Enang and leaders of the APC in Akwa Ibom will formally receive Senator Godswill Akpabio into the APC at Ikot Ekpene Stadium on Thursday, August 9, 2018.”
