The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested the manager of Union Bank Plc. Kano Branch, Mr. Samuel Obende and Head of Operation, Rabiu Dawaki for stealing the sum of N661million.

EFCC sources said the duo committed the fraud while supplying cash to about seventeen branches of the bank in Kano, Katsina, Kaduna and Jigawa States.

EFCC sources added that the Branch Manager and Head of Operation cleverly made entries that indicated that the stolen N661million had been sent to the bank branches. The fraudsters also fabricated accounting entries to conceal their dubious acts.
