Popular TV Series, Tales of Eve: Simi DVD Sold Out

Tales of EvesWith over 20,000 copies said to have been sold within a short time of release into the DVD market, popular TV series, Tales of Eve: Simi, is making a good impression that has earned the producer, Genesis Studios commendation.
Simi, the TV series produced by Olatunbosun Olaegbe, the brain behind the popular TV series, “So Wrong, So Wright” and “Street Chart”, is one out of many moving stories of Tales of Eve which ran for 13 weeks on several TV stations.
Speaking on the success, Olaegbe said the unprecedented viewership it got while on television compelled the producers to make a DVD version.
“To say we are excited about this huge sold out will be an understatement. Within a short period of time of release, we have sold over 20 000 copies. This is a feat that excites us and we cannot appreciate all our fans enough,” Olaegbe said.
“Tales of Eve” is a collection of moving stories which portrayed the life and experiences of African women as they live through the trials and triumphs of womanhood obtainable in Africa environment.
The impressive storyline tells the story of a young girl, Simi (Belinda Effah) who experiences the horrors and repercussion of rape in rural Nigeria.
Born to a village teacher and a seamstress, Simi dreams of a better life outside of Agbome. Those dreams are however shattered when Simi is raped by the returnee son of the village doctor. Rejected by the ones she loved; betrayed by those closest to her; hers is a heart-wrenching tale of dreams broken and hopes dashed, and of the emergence of a fighter from the ashes of defeat.
Simi is directed by Adeoye Bakare and it also boasts of a very impressive cast of seasoned actors and actresses like Tina Mba, Kayode Odumosu, Kate Adepegba, Ireti Osayemi and Frankincense Eche-Ben.
