Music star, Wizkid, will this weekend lead other talents across Africa to thrill an expected capacity crowd at the Accra, Ghana edition of telecommunications giant, Globacom flagship musical concert, Glo Mega Music Show.
Wizkid will be joined at the show which is scheduled for Saturday, September 22 by an intimidating array of other spectacular musical acts including dancehall maestro, Emmanuel Andrews Samini; Ghanaian dancehall master, Stonebwoy; Nigeria’s diva on the mic, Yemi Alade and her Ghanaian counterpart, MzVee who recently featured the former in her single titled Come and See My Moda. Another showstopper, Tekno will be on the bandstand with Kofi Kinaata and Tanzania’s acclaimed finest voice, Diamond Platnumz.
Expectant residents of the city are already warming up to receive the impressive line-up of artistes at the show which is the fourth in a five-edition concert billed for Fantasy Dome events centre located in the heart of the city of Accra. The first of the shows was a comedy show dubbed Laffta fest which was held on Sunday, August 12. The second episode, Mega Music, followed on Saturday, August 25 while another comedy show was held on Sunday, September 9.
Named Ayo Balogun but widely addressed by his stage name, Wizkid is reputed globally as a songwriter, singer and music entrepreneur whose performances have consistently received rave reviews across the world.
His colleague, Samini, is renowned as an outstanding talent among a galaxy of music stars. Custodian of a rare mélange of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop, Samini enjoys a huge following in his native Ghana and across other African nations just as Stonebwoy whose real name is Livingstone Etse Satekla, is an award-winning afro-pop, dancehall and reggae artiste from Ghana.
Head of Business, Glo Mobile, Ghana, Mr. Uche Ojo, explained that the company organised the music and comedy events to “appreciate our teeming supporters in Ghana. The company said in addition that those who already qualified to attend last comedy show are equally eligible to attend this music event.
