EFCC Boss In Fresh Trouble

These are not the best of times for the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu as he has been issued a query by Mr. Abubakar Malami, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

Sources disclosed to us that the query was accompanied by allegations contained in the security report prepared by the Department of State Services which was why the Senate rejected his confirmation as the EFCC chairman.

We gathered that some of the allegations against Magu was that he kept EFCC documents at his private residence during the chairmanship of Farida Waziri.

The DSS security report also includes issues bordering on Magu’s arrest, detention and suspension by the Nigeria Police. There is also an allegation that the sum of N40m was paid for the rented apartment, which costs N20m per annum, where Ibrahim Magu lives in Abuja by the retired military officer under investigation. Also, the DSS alleged that the retired officer awarded a N43m contract for the furnishing of the accommodation.
