Doris Uboh, Sterling Bank At War

Doris UbohFormer member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. (Mrs.) Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya is now locked in a fence war with Sterling Bank over unpaid loans. Subsequently, Sterling Bank dragged her to a Federal High Court in Lagos and got an order to freeze her accounts in eleven banks in Nigeria, namely; UBA, First Bank, Zenith Bank, Enterprise Bank, Skye Bank, Keystone Bank, Mainstreet Bank, Union Bank, Diamond Bank and Stanbic IBTC Plc.

What went wrong? Sterling Bank gave facility to her company, Dagasteel International Ltd. 1,600,000 dollars and N100 million to fund contracts awarded to the company by shell, SDPC and NPA. She used her property at No. 22, Onuwa Street, Behind Ogbe-Umudia Mixed Secondary School, Agbor, Delta State and other properties as security and collateral for the loan.

The bank revealed that Hon. Doris Uboh Ogunkoya collected 1,600,000 dollars for SPDC, Port Harcourt and instead of coming to service her loan, she diverted the money to pursue her political ambition in Delta State where she contested the last senatorial election under Labour Party and lost woefully to Peter Nwaoboshi
