Coscharis Motors Ltd. seems to be a company usually in the news for the wrong reasons. And like a leopard that can never change its skin the company once again is swimming in a fresh scandal over 2015 model of SUVs supplied to the Lagos State government.

We gathered that Dr. Cosmas Maduka owned company was contracted to supply about 27 sport utility vehicles of Ford Explorer for use by the newly appointed cabinet members of Lagos State government. Sooner had the vehicles were delivered than the true state of their condition began to surface. At first twelve of the vehicles were allegedly returned over malfunctioning of its cooling system and electrical fault.

Three days later it was gathered that Coscharis Motors Ltd. returned them with a promise that the faults had been fixed. Interestingly, it did not take few days before all the vehicles began to witness overheating with a permanent warning light switched on at the dashboard. For the second time the vehicles were said to have been returned to Coscharis Motors Ltd. while they were eventually delivered back to Lagos State government last week with a promise that all the vehicles are now in good condition.

However, a source close to the company revealed that two of the vehicles have once again been reported to have started malfunctioning and the owner is insisting on getting a new one and not refurbished. Those who are in the know of the development wondered why 2015 brand new vehicles could be having such major issue in droves.

It would be recalled that it was the same Coscharis Motors Ltd. that was involved in the Stella Oduah Gate auto scandal in the aviation ministry months back.
