Why Toke Benson Is Fighting James Faleke

Mrs. Toke Benson Awoyinka, a House of Reps aspirant, Ikeja Consistency, Lagos State is using every possible means to ensure that she takes over the constituency from Hon. James Faleke amidst several of her allegations against him.

Sources told us that her major grouse was that Faleke contested election in Kogi State and shouldn’t have returned to Lagos to recontest for the seat as House of Reps member representing Ikeja Constituency, Lagos. But she did not tell Lagosians if Faleke resigned his position at the national Assembly while contesting the election in Kogi State.

They added that Toke Benson also failed to realize that Hon. James Faleke would have been the governor of Kogi State today if not for political game played against the national leader, Ahmed Tinubu? How do you imagine INEC declaring an election inconclusive when Audu/Faleke were leading the PDP seating government in Kogi – State with about 41,000 votes, while the areas declared inconclusive had just 19,000 votes, but for politics against Tinubu by APC national body, a party Tinubu worked hard for, why would the party substitute the late Abubakar Audu for Yahaya Bello, who was just a runners up in the governorship election primaries?

Those in the know said that Mrs Toke Benson ignorant of the fact that Faleke changed the tide of that election in Kogi. That in the two previous elections that Abubakar had contested in Kogi State he was unable to win Kogi West District. Faleke made it possible within 3months of joining the race, they won 6 of 7 LGAs in Kogi West District. Barr. Toke Benson has benefitted a lot from Faleke even though she never acknowledged it.

We gathered that Hon. James Faleke has brought a lot of developmental stride to Ikeja since he occupied that position at the National Assembly and has touched many lives through empowerment and jobs creation.
