Why I Dumped PDP – Adamawa Governor, Fintiri

It is no longer news that the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during a recent interview, Fintiri explained the reasons behind his decision to join the APC.

He said: “I have been a central player in this party, my former party, PDP. I have not seen any candidate in the party that has come out to tell me he wants to contest and I cannot remain and jeopardize my political future.”

“A northerner has no business at the moment to vie for the office of the president. It is the turn of the south.”

“I still have cordial relationship with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. There is nothing that has gone bad. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways, and I am today in APC, they are in another party.”
