Former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has been lambasted by Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State.

He said; “The plan behind my defection was for the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to join me in APC two weeks after I must have successfully defected.”

“Anyim Pius Anyim backed out of the plan because I went to see President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the defection plan. I consulted all the National Assembly members and Elders from Ebonyi State over my defection to APC. All of them approved my move and even agreed to subsequently defect with me.”

“The only grievance of the NASS members and other leaders was that I joined APC before them. They actually wanted to join APC before me. They were planning to ambush me, but it is difficult to catch the air.”
