Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Ajanaku is dead.
The top politician died on Thursday, December 5th, 2019 at the age of 73 after battling with cancer for years.
We can tell you for free that the deceased was the first female politician to be elected as a Local Government Chairman in Nigeria.
For those who don’t know, Titilayo Ajanaku was a trained nurse, administrator and women leader. She was born on January 25, 1946 at Ago-Odo Quarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Before her demise, she was the Otun Iyalode of Egbaland. She was the chairman of old Abeokuta Local Government in Ogun State.
She attended Nawair-Ud-Deen Secondary School, Abeokuta and trained in Nursing at Stobhill General Hospital, Nether-Edge City General Hospital, Sheffield, United Kingdom between 1964 and 1965.
Ajanaku was a member of the National Association of Nurses and Midwives of Nigeria.
