Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) former Managing Director, Timi Alaibe has lamented over the demise of Albert Okumagba.
He wrote via his Facebook page; “THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! Words have failed me, since a few days gone, to express my heartbrokenness over the death of a beloved friend and a brother, Albert Okomagba a businessman and economist extraordinaire.”
“This year alone, death has claimed some of our very best in a way that defies comprehension. We have lost giants in business, politics, in the academia, and in the Niger Delta struggle. It begs the question: what’s going on!”
“The most painful is that nobody, within any age bracket, has been spared the evil hammer the young, the old, the sick and the healthy. We have been left breathless. We hardly have more tears to shed any longer. Shock and grief have taken hold of us.”
“The news of the death of Albert was received, first with a wave of the hand; then with unbelief; and finally with a devastating shock. How could this happen! Nobody seems to be aware that he was sick. Indeed, was he really sick?”
“Albert was visionary in business; warm and energetic in relationship; a mentor and an inspiration to the younger generation. He was full of life, with such a big, unnerving smile. Such a person ought not to die young.”
“One by one, our best are leaving prematurely no known sickness, no ignored warning. No day passes without the gravediggers being called to duty. We keep praying, weeping and wondering. The question remains unanswered: where have we gone wrong?”
“Again, here goes Albert our beloved Albert. The smile has ended. The hugs are no more. That phone call can no more be made. The deals are no longer worth any consideration not to talk of closing them. What a wicked world!”
“My sympathy goes first to his immediate family his wife and children who have been deprived of someone so loving, so close, and so caring. His siblings and relations, the BGL family and partners across the world deserve our prayers and encouragements.”
