Ondo Guber Candidate, Omoniyi Oboli Buries Mother In Style

The town of Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State on Friday experienced a stand still as Late Mrs Eunice Oladipupo-Ogunwa remains, aged 95 years was buried amid funfair.

Late Mrs Ogunwa, mother of Engr. Omoniyi Oboli-Ogunwa, a People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2016, Ondo state governorship election.

Gov. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State who commiserated with the family of Ogunwa said that nothing can be compared to having a good parent, especially mother.

Mimiko, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Barr. Kola Ademujimi, urged those who still have their parents to take good care of them while they are still alive.

“There is no doubt that mama lived a good live and enjoyed the fruits of her labour, may her gentle soul rest in the bosom of God,’’ he said.

Earlier in his sermon, Rev. Fr Dominic Akinjo of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Ode-Aye told the congregation to live a Godly and exemplary life saying that “the trumpet might sound anytime.”

The cleric added that the world is a market place where everyone has come to buy and sale but would later go back home to account for the good and bad deeds on judgment day.

“Our mother tried her own best to live a Godly and exemplary live, we should all imbibe this because no one knows when the trumpet will sound,” the cleric said.

Engr. Oboli-Ogunwa who was also the Chairman, Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc. told Journalists that he would miss his mother who was so close to him.

He added that her mother was a disciplinarian who strived together with his father to give him, his elder and younger ones good education which has become their own inheritance now.

“My mother is my mentor, adviser and role model which her memory will linger for a long time in my heart, I missed her so much, may her soul rest in peace,” he said.

Political gladiators who were present at the reception of the burial are; Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele, Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Omogbehin, Member House Of Rep. Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Ondo State Chief of Staff, Barr. Kola Ademujimi representing Gov. (Dr.) Olusegun Mimiko, Hon. Abayomi Sheba, Former Member, House of Reps, Mr. Jimi Adejuyigbe, Commissioner for Education, Solomon Bitire, Caretaker Chairman, Okitipupa LGA.

Others are political heavyweights in the state’s PDP, traditional rulers, high chiefs and all well wishers who were thrilled with good gospel music by Esther Igbekele, a gospel-juju artiste.
