The political scenario in Ogun State is gradually becoming more interesting as another group of Yewa elders known as Ogun West Elders Forum led by Honourable Chief Mufutau Akande Ajibola has referred to the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as “Tekobo“.

Reacting to an allegation levelled against the former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba by another Yewa group of elders recently, Ajibola said: “The elders purporting to speak for Ogun West cast various aspersions on the person of one the leaders and a former governor, Aremo Olusegun Osoba insinuating that he was opposed to the emergence of an Ogun West indigene becoming the governor of the State in 2019.”
Ajibola who informed journalists during a media briefing in Abeokuta on Tuesday 31st October, 2017 that the so-called elders did not consult nor have the mandate of Ogun West people disclosed that they are being paid to do the hatched job by Governor Amosun.
According to him: “The said elders council, who obviously are loyalists of the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun re-echoed their paymaster by insinuating that some of our sons and daughters from Ogun West who are in the gubernatorial race are “Tekobos” (strangers).”
While describing them as pawns in the hand of their paymaster, he further stated that the zone which has resolved not to be distracted by the ploys and antics of opposition shall resist any attempt of imposing candidates on them.
Also referring to Amosun as “Tekobo“, Ajibola said: “In any case all previous governors of the State including the incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun can rightly be described as “Tekobo“.”
While defending Chief Osoba on Ogun West agenda towards 2019 Ajibola said: “The utterances and press interviews of Chief Osoba has shown him as someone who is firmly committed to the realization of Ogun West for Governor in 2019 in the interest of justice, equity and fairness, 42years after the creation of the state.”
On his own, while addressing journalists, Chief Olu Agemo, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State said: “We believe in making friends rather than casting aspersions on anyone, we will not allow people to divide us and we shall not play to the gallery because we know enemies are at work. We know some candidates are being sponsored to divide, whereas they have their candidates outside Ogun West.
