It was not only an exhibition of of another giant stride of Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Agriculture sector but also a parade of Nollywood stars as MITROS Ofada rice was launched amidst fanfare.
The elaborate event which was held at Farmers Market, Asero Abeokuta had in attendance the Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Bagudu, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and several Royal fathers across the State.
Some of the Nollywood stars which added glamour to the historic occasion includes, Odunlade Adekola, Mercy Aigbe, Saheed Balogun, Kola Olaiya and several others, while hip hop star, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj was not only in attendance but also performed to the admiration of those in attendance.
While commending the initiatives of the State Government in Agricultural sector in his goodwill message, the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele charged other states across the country to emulate such economic developmental programmes in order to create job opportunities and strengthening of our currency against foreign currencies.
In his own address, the Kebbi State governor and Chairman, Presidential Task Force Committee on Agriculture, Abubakar Bagudu, expressed his satisfaction with the level of Agricultural development going on in the country.
He further lauded Governor Amosun for making President Muhammadu Buhari proud over his commitments to agricultural initiatives of Mr President.
On his own, while delivering a speech at the event, Governor Ibikunle Amosun not only informed the gathering that the rice was planted, processed and packaged in the State but also stated his administration is ready to make the state an exporter of rice products. According to the governor, fifty kilogram of the rice is being sold at eleven thousand five hundred naira.
