The leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Tajudeen Baruwa has been arrested by the police.

The arrest came after he led members of his faction to take over the National Secretariat of the NURTW from MC Oluomo.

Baruwa’s attempt to takeover comes after a ruling of the National Industrial Court ordered MC Oluomo to vacate the office of the President of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and for Baruwa to take over the affairs of the union. The ruling was delivered on March 12.
