Super Eagles captain and Turkish club, Trabzonspor star, John Mikel Obi has been sacked by the club.

He was fired due to his action recently during a league match between his club and Istanbul Basaksehir where he refused to come off the bench for their 1-1 draw with Istanbul Basaksehir.

Besides, he also criticised Turkish football authorities for not suspending the league as others did in their respective leagues despite the spread of the Coronavirus.

However, the club in a statement, said; “The professional football player agreement between our company and John Obi Mikel on 30.06.2019 start date 31.05.2021 has been mutually terminated.

“With a mutual termination agreement, the football player gave up all his forward-looking receivables.”
