How Atiku Emerged As PDP Presidential Candidate

That former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held on Sunday, October 7th, 2018 in Rivers State is an established fact.

Atiku defeated his closest rival, Aminu Tambuwal who polled 693 votes with 1532 votes, Senate President Bukola Saraki scored 317 votes, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo – 111 votes, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso – 158 votes, Ahmed Makarfi – 74 votes and Jonah Jang – 19.

Others include; Sen. David Mark with 35 votes; Sule Lamido – 96 votes; Atahiru Bafarawa – 48 votes, Tanimu Turaki; Datti Baba-Ahmed – 5; and Stanley Osifo.

Obviously, the former vice president will be slugging it out with President Muhammadu Buhari whom the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its candidate for the 2019 general election.
