Ex-Cross River State Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Mr. Fidelis Ugbo has revealed how Gov. Liyel Imoke of Cross River State deceived him to resign from his job as Secretary to the National Planning Commission and contest for the governorship of the state under PDP.

He explained the governor later dumped him after he resigned from his plumb job in Abuja. He said he gave his resignation letter to the governor before submitting it to the presidency just to reassure him if he should go ahead and contest for the governorship. He said the governor asked him to go ahead as planned. Mr. Ugbo said that Governor Imoke called him on phone at about 2.35am on the guber primary day in Cross River State and told him not to participate in the PDP governorship primary. He is now contesting the governorship election under Labour Party.
