Globacom-Sponsored CNN African Voices Celebrates Female Entrepreneurs

This week’s edition of Globacom-sponsored CNN African Voices celebrates leading female entrepreneurs on the continent.

The thirty-minute magazine programme is aired on CNN at 9.30 a.m. on Friday. Viewers can also watch the repeat editions at 3.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturday and at 11.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday. Further repeats come up at 10:30 a.m. on Monday and 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to a statement released by Globacom in Lagos, the entrepreneurs being featured on the programme are  Ghanaian TV personality and media entrepreneur, Peace Hyde; founder of Kenya’s first indigenous cosmetics brand, Suzie Wokabi; and Moroccan celebrity chef and author, Choumicha Chafay.

Hyde is originally from the United Kingdom, where she practiced as an education specialist. She is the founder of Aim Higher Africa, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enriching the standard of education for students by incorporating the use of ICT in the learning environment. She is also the head of digital media and partnerships for Forbes Africa.

Suzie Wokabi is one of Kenya’s most exceptional female entrepreneurs. Eight years ago, she founded Suziebeauty which manufactures lip-gloss, lipstick, eye shadow, mascara and concealers. Suziebeauty is now a remarkably successful brand and a household name in many Kenyan homes.

The third guest, Choumicha Chafay, has become popular as a celebrity chef and has participated as a jury member in several competitions including “Master Chef” France show, “Master Chef” Saudi Arabia and “Top Chef” Lebanon.  She also founded and directed the publication of the first Moroccan culinary magazine, Saveurs et cuisine du Maroc
