Popular filmmaker, Fidelis Duker has revealed how he escaped death… “I have been to Nairobi a couple of times but this trip was very memorable because my wife insisted that we went to the safari to see wildlife. When we got to the Nairobi National Park, something memorable happened.”

“We used our driver’s car which turned out to be a terrible mistake. While we were driving, I saw a place where they wrote lion’s cave and there was a big sign that showed that lions could be around there. Before that day, a colleague of mine had visited the national park and had taken pictures with zebras but unknown to us, he was actually far from the zebras.”

“The camera was ‘zoomed’ so it looked like he was standing very close to the zebras. My wife saw the picture when he came to the hotel where we lodged and became excited to take hers too. While we were driving in the safari, we saw a lot of wild animals walking and we sometimes waited for them to pass because it was their environment.”

“At a point, our car got stuck in the mud and that was the most frightening and dreadful point in the whole experience but we were able to pull out of it without alighting from the car. On getting to the final point, we saw lots of zebras and we concluded that it must be the place where my colleague took the pictures. Our driver told us to come down because the zebras were not harmful.”

“The driver got down from the vehicle and started running inside the bush while my wife followed because she was eager to take a picture. Luckily for us, a Caucasian couple, who drove behind us, told us that while in the park, you don’t come down from your car. At that moment, we rushed back into the car and we noticed a bear standing alone looking into space, but we didn’t know that a lion was further down waiting for the best time to attack.”

“After we got back to the hotel, I checked YouTube and discovered that a lot of people had lost their lives in that park. It was a very wonderful experience for us as a couple but I vowed I would never go back there even if I visit Nairobi again.”
