Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has eventually bowed to the superior authority of the National Working Party (NWC) by agreeing to hold direct primaries for the selection of flag bears of the party for all elective positions as oppose to his earlier decision.

It will be recalled that Governor Amosun at the beginning adopted a consensus arrangement that produced AbdulKadiri Adekunle Akinlade, and later his running mate, Adepeju Adebajo as well as other flagbearers of the party at all levels, including House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial Seat.
