First City Monument Bank (FCMB) is in trouble again as two of the bank workers; Mr. Ochoche Gabriel and Eniola Joseph have been arrested and arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory High Court for facilitating the illegal transfer of about N1billion to a fraudster cum businessman, Adeolu Adeyanju.

Sources said the money was stolen from the Federal Ministry of Environment account with the bank. The two FCMB workers are accused of aiding and abetting the commission of the crime. We gathered that Mr. Adeola Adeyanju forged letters of contract award by the ministry to his company, Detwinx Global Service Ltd. and three other companies owned by his friends.

Thereafter, he also forged payment schedules of the ministry where sums of money were paid to his company and his friend’s companies.

About N1billion was paid to the companies without FCMB officials following banking procedures. Eniola Joseph, the FCMB Account Manager for the Federal Ministry of Finance is claimed.

She called an official of the ministry before payment but she could not provide the investigators with the call log.
