Ex-Ondo Governorship Candidate Eyitayo Jegede Dumps PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2016 and 2020 elections in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede has resigned from the party.

Jegede announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman of Owode/Imuagun Ward 11, Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

The letter, dated August 7, 2026 reads:

“Kindly take this as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, effective immediately.”

“I will be glad if you will kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter.”
