Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President, wife and son escaped an assassination attempt on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at about 4am.

We gathered that the assassins entered his Apo Quarters residence evading his security personnel and took hold of his son, commanding him to lead them to the senator’s bedroom.

Insiders said that the lawmaker struggled with the assassins leading to the arrest of one of the assailants with dangerous weapons and housebreaking devices, while the rest managed to escape.

The arrested member of the gang has, however, refused to divulge any information on the operation and has been handed over to the police.
