DSS Fights EFCC

Information reaching us right now has it that the Department of State Services (DSS) is slugging it out with the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrest of Ita Ekpenyong, former Director-General of the DSS.

DSS Versus EFCC

Sources squealed that the home of the DSS’ ex-boss has drawn the attention of the public as men of the DSS are preventing the operatives of the EFCC from arresting him after storming his home this morning with an arrest warrant.

We learnt that the EFCC officials, including armed policemen numbering over 50 attempted to enter Ita’s house at 46 Mamman Nasir Street, Asokoro but were wadded off by heavily armed DSS officials from getting inside. Interestingly, we were informed that the DSS officials said they were acting on “orders from above”.

Be that as it may, Ita Ekpenyong has been under investigation for his alleged role in disbursing funds meant for arms. A source said that former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (Retd.) and other service chiefs have been arraigned but the DSS has refused to release its own officials for probe.
