Richest man in Africa and founder of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has eventually waded into the face-off between Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

We gathered that Dangote waded into the matter, following the recent moves by the Kano State House of Assembly to create additional four Emirate councils in the state.

A source squealed to us that Dangote was seen on Tuesday morning where he convened a meeting between Ganduje and Emir Sanusi.

The source said; “As I speak to you, Dangote just arrived and he went straight into a meeting with the Governor who returned from condolence visit to Gezewa. He didn’t want to come to the office today but because of the death he visited the town and wanted going back before Dangote arrived.”

It is interesting to know that the State Assembly has initiated a bid to create four additional Emirate Councils in the State that would elevate the current status of some District Heads to First Class Emirs.

Kano State Emir’s Appointment and Deposition Amendment Law, 2019 was assented to by the governor. The signing of the bill took place at the 136th state council meeting, before the Speaker of the State Assembly and other Principal Officers of the House.

The bill, which was passed on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 by the State House of Assembly, made provision for the creation of four new emirate councils in Kano, namely, Gaya, Rano, Karaye and Bichi. With Kano, the state now has five Emirates.

The new law came into existence with the intention of crippling the traditional influence of Emir Sanusi, who is being probed by the state government over alleged financial misconduct.
