Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola says she has learnt her lessons when it comes to lavish spending, which is synonymous to celebrities.

The popular Nollywood celebrity is not a new face as she has an illustrious career in the acting world, with some accolades to her name.

The Nollywood Celebrity, whose career in the acting industry has continued to go higher, has also been plagued by some controversies as she was said to have been dumped by her lover, Dede Mabiaku, Afro beat singer.

While most Nigerian celebrities are known for extravagant spending, Bimbo seems to be the conservative type as she has learnt her lessons after spending her first take home pay with friends in one day which was fifty thousand naira.

On the level attained by the movie industry in the past couple of years, the sundry actress said she feels good with the way she has spent her money.

She affirmed, “It was fifty thousand naira, way back when I was still in school in 1995, I think. I blew the whole cash in a go, partying with my friends. Looking back now, it sure was fun”.

The sundry Yoruba actress, who was once the toast of many producer in the make believe world when she started acting, noted that she had gone past the stage where she ran after producers just in a bid to gain popularity.

According to her, “I have been in the movie industry for a while. In the beginning, when you are a newcomer who wants to make a name and want people to know who you are and the directors to see your work, you do anything that comes your way. I have passed that point. Right now, I believe that anything that I’m doing should mean or say something.

“At the end of the day, we’re not just entertainers but we also educate and inform. I believe in this profession. I’m passionate about acting. I went to school for six years because I believed in it. This was all I wanted to do at the end of the day. It’s where I think I belong. That’s what has kept me here.”
